The Greater Tamarac Chamber of Commerce and the City of Tamarac held its first Tamarac Arts & Crafts Festival in April of this year! There were artists, crafters, jewelers, photographers, woodworkers, food trucks, food vendors and entertainment.
We’re doing it again in 2017! What a great opportunity for Tamarac and the surrounding communities to experience arts and crafts. This event demonstrated that arts festivals can be an important factor in improving perceptions of places and people.
Giving children in the area an opportunity to come together and have fun enhances their future civic mindedness. It also helps create great memories for the children and their families. Children that love their communities actually do better in school! With several different activities for children and all kinds of entertainment, there is lots for them to do.
A community Arts and Crafts festival is a great way to come together and celebrate. It is an opportunity for socializing, developing local distinctiveness and pride…and it’s a contributing factor to the social and economic well-being of our locals. What a great way to bring different cultures together in an act of unity! There is evidence that festivals make significant contribution to promoting the place where they happen and to developing audiences for cultural events.
